Sonya Blade

10.30.09 | No Comments

On October 10, 2009, Warner Bros. Entertainment filed to protect the trademark Sonya Blade in relation to “motion picture films featuring comedy, drama, action, adventure and/or animation, and motion picture films for broadcast on television featuring comedy, drama, action, adventure and/or animation” in addition to a variety of other goods and services, including videogames.

A third Mortal Kombat film is currently in the development stage with a tentative release date of 2010. Having read the script, Ed Boon (Warner Bros. Executive Producer of the Mortal Kombat series) has stated the next movie will actually be more of a reboot, as opposed to a third sequel as previously believed. The title “Mortal Kombat Devastation” appears to have been scrapped, as the current working title is simply “Mortal Kombat”.

Given the above, Mork suspects the third Mortal Kombat film will be called Sonya Blade. The question becomes: who will play her in the third film?
