On December 20, 2007, Food Network and Scripps Networks filed to protect the trademark Worst Cook in America in relation to “entertainment services”, which likely and logically means “TV show”.
Food Network also filed on the same day for a collection of marks for what appear to be new and upcoming TV programs for 2008. Here are the titles, along with Mork’s assumption regarding what these shows could be about:
Worst Cook In America
Food Network’s search for the worst cook in America. Not to be confused with America’s Worst Cook, a recent contest sponsored by the American Egg Board.
Rescue Chef
A chef comes to assist real people with their food emergencies. While the show isn’t listed on Food Network’s Show List, there is a Rescue Chef page on their site which is soliciting possible participants for the show.
Danny to the Rescue
Similar concept to the above, only featuring someone named Danny? The Danny could be The Hearty Boys’ Dan Smith, a chef, restaurateur and co-winner of last season’s The Next Food Network Star program.
Paula’s Best Dishes
Yet another show featuring Food Network celebrity cook and Queen of Southern Cooking Paula Deen. Like she’s not busy enough with Paula’s Party and Paula’s Home Cooking.
Dear Food Network
A show involving food and cooking related questions from viewers. Food Network is already soliciting possible contestants on their Dear Food Network page listed in their Be on Food Network section.
Down Home With The Neelys
A food and cooking show featuring Pat and Gina Neely. Featured earlier this year on Paula’s Party, the Neely’s are known for the BBQ cooking and Tennessee-based Bar-B-Que restaurants. Down Home With The Neelys already has a page on the Food Network site.
Mork’s hungry now.
