On December 20, 2007, Walt Disney Enterprises, Inc. filed to protect the trademark Wondermark Studios in relation to the “production and distribution of motion pictures, television programs and movies and other audiovisual entertainment programs to be distributed theatrically, via television, cable, satellite broadcasting and the internet”.
The first lead seems like a dead end. Wondermark is a web comic by a fellow named David Malki ! who is also a trailer editor. While he has edited movie trailers for a few big Disney movies, his film making efforts don’t suggest that this is at all related to a full-blown Disney-sponsored studio.
At this writing, a Google search for “wondermark studios” only offers one result: a LinkedIn profile for a guy named Shane Snoke. Mr. Snoke is listed as “Sr. Mgr. Development & Production, Wondermark Studios at Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Production”. His past positions include “Sr. Mgr., Creative Relations at Walt Disney Motion Pictures Production” and “Coordinator to the President at Buena Vista Motion Pictures Group”. Mr. Snoke chaired a session at Broadband World Forum Asia 2007 and wrote and produced a short film called Borders in 2000.
And that’s about it. Mork will post more about this when any new info becomes available.
