Tsunagi

12.20.07 | No Comments

On December 12, 2007, Japanese technology company Toshiba Corporation filed to protect the trademark Tsunagi in relation to “handheld mobile digital electronic devices for the sending and receiving of telephone calls, electronic mail, and other digital data and for use as a digital format audio and video player and recorder, handheld computer, personal digital assistant, electronic organizer, and electronic notepad”.

In addition to a Japanese town located in Ashikita District, Kumamoto, the word “tsunagi” is Japanese for “connection” or “link”. Very appropriate.

Mork’s search didn’t turn up any definitive info using the name “tsunagi”. But he figures the Toshiba Tsunagi might be something like a glorified Toshiba Portage G910, its G900 predecessor, or the Toshiba X01T 3G PDA, the Japanese version of the G900. But who knows. More info as someone in the know digs it up.
