On October 4, 2007, Bloomberg filed to protect the trademark TradeHub. The filing describes the mark in relation to “financial services in the nature of providing a securities trading system; electronically providing the services of a securities trading broker; objectively rating securities; financial services in the nature of providing an algorithmic trading strategy; information services relating to finance and financial news, namely, providing analysis of securities markets and models that objectively rate securities”.
Bloomberg has an existing partnership with Omgeo, who has a product called TradeHub which “transmits settlement notification, reconcilation information and other necessary messages between investment managers and custodians through an open messaging system”. Bloomberg must be “acquiring” the name for their own service.
In any case, add TradeHub to the current list of Bloomberg’s trademarks.
