The Furious Five

10.18.07 | No Comments

On October 9, 2007, DreamWorks Animation filed to protect the trademark The Furious Five in relation to a wide variety of goods related to an animated motion picture. Mork initially thought that maybe an animated feature about Grandmaster Flash was in the works. But then he discovered that DreamWorks has an animated feature in the works called Punk Farm, based on the children’s book Punk Farm by Jarrett J. Krosoczka, about an underground punk band comprised of five farm animals— Sheep, Pig, Chicken, Goat and Cow. The film will chronicle their journey as they follow their dreams to make their mark as a band and perform at the first-ever animal band music festival: LIVESTOCK.

So, Mork figures one of three things: 1. The Furious Five is Punk Farm’s nickname (i.e. the Beatles were known as The Fab Four), 2. The Furious Five is the name of another band that’s in the movie but not in the book, or 3. The Furious Five is another DreamWorks project not related at all to Punk Farm. We’ll see.
