What a difference a week makes. While Trademork launched in the last few days of September (only two and a half months ago) our official launch came last week. With just three posts to this blog, Trademork sent ripples across the internet.

The first post was SoundUnwound, a trademark filing in relation to a potential IMDb music social network. The post was picked up by a few sites and the curious started clicking in to this site. But we were just warming up.

The second post was Dreamcast, a trademark filing by Sega in relation to a potential Dreamcast 2 console. The post was picked up by Wired, Gamespot, Gizmodo and Kotaku (among others). It sparked a front-page Digg story, an explosion of rumors throughout the internet gaming community, and prompted Sega to issue a statement regarding the rumor. Now we’re talking!

The third post was Not safe for work, a trademark filing by Fark.com in relation to adult-oriented material on the internet. The post was picked up by TechCrunch, Mashable, ars technica, Wired and Slashdot (among many others). It sparked a front-page Digg story, another explosion of rumors and comments throughout the internet, and prompted Fark to respond to the story. Muhahaha.

In 7 days, these 3 posts generated over 21,000 page views to this site. Small potatoes in relation to major blogs and sites that have been around for a while. Not bad for a little blog trying to do something different and make its mark on a crowded and fickle internet community.

We’ve only just begun. Continue to look to us to bring you interesting and newsworthy trademark filings.

Don’t miss the mark!
