On August 21, 2007, online movie rental business Netflix, Inc. filed to protect the name Netflix in relation to set-top boxes. The filing covers “computer hardware, set top boxes and computer software, namely audio and video receivers and transmitters and computer software programs enabling receipt, download, playing, viewing, and rental of audio and video programming through the use of internet connections to computer hardware and receiver and transmitter apparatuses that connect to a television set or monitor”.
Add this filing to years of Netflix set-top box rumors, including the creation of an Internet TV division. Mork just hopes that this box makes it to market before Season 2 of Dexter makes it to DVD.
