On October 17, 2007, American automaker Ford Motor Company filed to protect the trademark Extend in relation to a “plug-in hybrid automobile”. Just in the last few months, Ford has stated that a variety of plug-in hybrids are in development, and given a general timeframe (5 to 10 years) for their release. In addition, Ford recently teamed up with Southern California Edison to explore new solutions and technologies related to plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles.

Mork is looking forward to test-driving the new Ford Extend when it comes out, and hopes that its a little cooler-looking than the Toyota Prius.
