On November 5, 2007, American Suzuki Motor Corporation filed to protect the trademark Equator in relation to “automotive vehicles, namely, trucks, sport-utility vehicles and automobiles”.
A quick search for “Suzuki Equator” results in absolutely nothing. The only vehicle that emerges related to the Equator name is the Ford Equator Concept unveiled at the 2005 Toyko Auto Show. The Equator concept was a sleeker, more powerful version of the Ford Escape.
Mork will keep an eye on announcements from the upcoming 2007 LA Auto Show to see if there’s any mention of the Suzuki Equator.
