Update: Mork managed to see a sneak-preview of Cloverfield last night. Huge waste of time. Some fun effects and camerawork, but a terrible flick overall. As punishment for making him sit through it, Mork will be posting no additional Cloverfield-related trademark filings on this site.
_____
On December 10, 2007, Paramount Pictures Corporation filed to protect the trademark Cloverfield in relation to the upcoming monster movie being unleashed on January 18, 2008 by J. J. Abrams (What About Brian) and Matt Reeves (The Pallbearer).
Paramount is leading with the secondary filings for dolls, action figures and toys, various clothing items as well as various writing instruments, stickers and paper goods. Mork will post the primary filings when they appear.
This isn’t exactly breaking news, as the name for this movie is already known. Mork just lost his head when he saw the word “Cloverfield” in the day’s trademark filings and had to post it immediately.
If you’ve been living under a rock for the last week and haven’t seen the exclusive preview, then check it out.
