  Dinosaur Train

  On August 14, 2007, The Jim Henson Company filed to protect the trademark Dinosaur Train, in relation to a series of animated television programs, webisodes, media recordings and various merchandise. The logical assumption is that Henson is adapting the children's book Dinosaur Train by children's book illustrator John Steven Gurney. The story is about a boy who finds himself on an exciting train ride with a bunch of dinosaurs. Mork will post an update when more info becomes available.

  United States of Tara

  On October 2, 2007, Showtime filed seven applications to protect the trademark United States of Tara, the upcoming comedy being developed by DreamWorks Television, based on an original concept by Steven Spielberg. The show, dubbed "The United States of Tara" by Variety earlier this year, is written and produced by Diablo Cody, an LA-based writer and blogger, and centers around a wife and mother of two teenage kids who suffers from dissociative identity (formerly multiple personality) disorder. Showtime President Robert Greenblatt describes the show as "Weeds" meets "Sybil".

  Bradley Blows Up

  The Cartoon Network, on August 6, 2007, filed to protect the trademark Bradley Blows Up in relation to an animated TV show and video games. There's nothing online to suggest who Bradley is or what this show will be about. Mork wonders whether "blows up" means "blows up like a balloon" or "explodes" or "gets famous" or"gets mad". But he figures Bradley can't be too mad if he's getting his own friggin' TV show. Lucky.

  CBS Hotspot

  On October 1, 2007, CBS Interactive filed to protect the trademark CBS Hotspot. The filing suggests that the upcoming service will offer a variety of mobile and internet programming. Mork wonders if the service will focus on original or existing CBS content. And if it will be a new service, or a rebranding of the CBS Innertube video service.

  Sports Unfiltered with Dennis Miller

  Versus filed on September 27, 2007 to protect the trademarks Sports Unfiltered and Sports Unfiltered with Dennis Miller to be used in relation to a sports-related cable television program. UPDATE: On October 8, 2007, Versus announced the show in a press release, 5 days after this post. Once again, Mork was there first!

  Half Their Size

  On September 24, 2007, Time, Inc. (a division of Time Warner) filed to protect the trademark Half Their Size, in relation to a television program on the subjects of diet, weight loss and related human interest stories. People Magazine, a Time Inc. publication, already has a feature called Half Their Size. Mork wonders if a reality TV show is far behind.

  AMERICAN POLE DANCING CHAMPIONSHIP

  On September 7, 2007, Pageboy Entertainment filed to protect the trademark American Pole Dancing Championship. Mork's looking forward to this show! Pageboy were the creators of RollerJam, a roller derby TV series inspired by the drama and conventions of WWE. UPDATE: Pageboy also filed for World Pole Dancing Championship. Mork thinks its going to be a downright Ho-lympics!
