On January 8, 2008, Samsung Electronics filed to protect the trademark SyncPaper in relation to "electronic ink display devices". The filing suggests the potential devices would include "computers, computer monitors, workstations, telephones, digital multimedia broadcasting receivers, MP3 players, television receivers, electronic calculators, notebook computers, CD players, DVD players, personal digital assistants and mobile telephones".
