  Double Fine, the game company formed by ex-LucasArts Grim Fandango and Psychonauts creator Tim Schafer, has filed for the trademark Brutal Legend. This appears to confirm the development of the much-rumored game starring Jack Black as a roadie trying to get to rock'n'roll heaven. The filing was made on August 10, 2007. UPDATE: A second filing on September 6, 2007 for the mark Brutal Legend has been made by game publisher Sierra Entertainment. News of the collaboration hit the Web today, September 9,2007.

  Finally! Doughnuts that you toast! They're already deep-fried, but no matter. They're not hot and toasty until you toast them! Thanks to Grandpa Don's Bread in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Toaster Doughnuts hopefully will be coming soon to a store near you. The September 4, 2007 filing and a Google search give us no hints as to what flavors Grandpa Don will toast up, or where we'll be able to get them.   On September 5, 2007, New Line Productions filed ten applications to protect the mark Spy-Fly. The primary filings protect the trademark for use in relation to motion picture films and television programs. Spy Fly was a character in the animated series ChalkZone that appeared on Nickelodeon from 2002 to 2006. The character was a chalk-fly with a camera mounted to its head.   On September 7, 2007, Pageboy Entertainment filed to protect the trademark American Pole Dancing Championship. Mork's looking forward to this show! Pageboy were the creators of RollerJam, a roller derby TV series inspired by the drama and conventions of WWE. UPDATE: Pageboy also filed for World Pole Dancing Championship.
