  On September 24, 2007, Time, Inc. (a division of Time Warner) filed to protect the trademark Half Their Size, in relation to a television program on the subjects of diet, weight loss and related human interest stories. People Magazine, a Time Inc. publication, already has a feature called Half Their Size. Mork wonders if a reality TV show is far behind.

  On September 24, 2007, Gamefly, the online video game rental service, filed to protect the trademark Cheatfreak, in relation to a video game cheat search engine. Gamefly had previously filed back in March of 2007 to use the mark Cheatserver. Mork wonders if the new filing has anything do do with an existing service at cheatserver.com, or if there is or will be any relation between the two.

  So, two dubes (misspelling intended) from Virginia have filed to trademark the name 4:19 with the intent to develop a line of shirts, hats and apparrel. Now, does the name refer to the minute before 4:20? Or to the Bible passage Philippians 4:19? Mork is thinking the former, as the Partnership/DBA is called "Sparks Up". Heh heh. Yeah.

  Network Solutions appears to be developing a domain name auction service. On September 24, 2007, they filed to protect the trademark Namejet. The services description includes: "on-line auction services featuring domain names; on-line auction services for businesses, consumers, domain name holders; on-line bidding services featuring domain names; on-line proxy bidding services". A quick Google search for the term "domain name auctions" features a Network Solutions link as the #1 Sponsored Link. However, the link kicks you to a standard domain name promo/search page. Expect this prime link to redirect to the new Namejet service when it launches.

  Bitch Slap Barbie

  If Mork had a favorite St. Louis punk band named after a famous Mattel product, it would be Bitch Slap Barbie, whose vocalists Lisa and Gita filed on September 25, 2007 to protect their name.   Codemasters, publisher of the upcoming game Clive Barker's Jericho, filed three applications on September 18, 2007 to protect the trademark Damnation. Interesting, as Clive Barker is the author of a book called The Damnation Game, which in a recent interview he refers to simply as Damnation.
